Synopsis

Amazon.com
For their third album, these Nashville boys expand their boogie-blues/rock roots. "Julie's Song" playfully sports a poppy Beatlesque touch, while "Dragon Park" hints at jazz. But no matter where these guys stretch their wings creatively, they always return home to the South. Take "Groove Me," for example, where pummeling, almost heavy metal rhythm head-butts with smooth '60s soul. Or the ballad "It Ain't Nothin'," which is pure class with a country twang. Singer Mike Farris may put his trust in the Lord, as evidenced by the introspective "Standing in the Sun," but he also proudly struts his stuff on "Boogie King" and investigates the dark side on the tortured "More Than I Can Take." Big Wheel has many facets, all of them fascinating. --Janiss Garza

ODdOnLifeItself | 05/19/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"i have all three albums and i must say i'm surprised i haven't worn them out yet. they are hands down the best band i've ever seen live.. including a 4-hour two-set jam in nyc. i just wish get back together and record another album. Trust me, if you get any of their stuff you won't be disappointed."
Incredible Band Incredible Album

"I saw this band (in Tucson) open for Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top. I have been a LONGTIME Skynyrd and ZZ Top fan, HOWEVER the Screaming Cheetah Wheelies OWNED the stage. Funky, rocking, emotional, impossible to sit still is how I would describe the band. This album, is their best and has something for everyone...emotional, well-written songs that MOVE, and some of the most beautiful guitar playing EVER. Enjoy."
