"I bought this album while listening to the Prodigals at the Dublin Irish and Scottish Festival. If you haven't been lucky enough to catch The Prodgals in concert, their live shows are amazing. When I got back to the car I was somewhat dismayed to find out that the album is much more mellow than the live act. The highest energy tracks on the album (Jackie Hall, Out of Mind) barely match the mellowest part of the concert. After listening to the album for several days, I realized that it was a great album in it's own right. When taken without the expectation of an almost hard-rock energy, it's a very nice work. I highly recommend this album to anyone seeking music that is very obviously traditional whilst still having an edge. A note to all the bass players, some of the lines are impressive, try the riff that starts track 6 (Jackie Hall)."
Not what it says on the label

"a sticker on the cover says they are NY's answer to the pogues. It's better than that - not just a copycat band - closer to the Saw Doctors than the Pogues but with their own edgegreat stuff"

"I saw the Prodigals recently in Cambridge MA at HOUSE OF BLUES and they rock! They are all talented and personable musicians who mingle with the crowd during the break between sets. DREAMING is really one of the best CDs I've heard. ALL the songs are great (tho' I'm partial to reels) and are the kind that get stuck in your head, so that you find yourself humming them as you wheel your cart down the aisles in the grocery store! The 2nd CD, GO ON, is just as fun. Don't pass up a chance to see them live--you won't regret it!"
Best Irish Rock band next to U2!

"U2 is more rock than Irish. The Prodigals play up traditional Celtic music into rock. If you like Michael Flatley's "Lord of the Dance", you get the picture. "Dreaming" is their best CD to date, though "Go On" comes very close. These guys get bigger and better each time. The live shows are high energy rock concerts but without the obsenities and drugs, so they make great family events. They are, without doubt the next generation of Irish music. Buy the CD, crank up the volume, and enjoy!"
