A World Groove Tour

"DANCE by The Neurons is a rhythmic ride that takes you on a world groove tour. There are 2 tour guides here in the form of a trumpet and native flute whose appearance and disappearance throughout the CD are constantly redefining where you are at moment while the power of groove ("groovement" as Neurons call it) takes you where you're going next. What's appealing about the groove is that the drums don't pound a hole in the earth like some world music does, but instead roll and carry you onward. Your groove tour launches in the south pacific with the song "Wild Men of Borneo" and from there jumps, jibes, dances and cruises to exotic places in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas only to make a full circle back to the tropics with the final song, "Island Girl." And who would have thunk that the trumpet and native flute could sound so cool together? It's David Hoffman (trumpet) and Paul Adams (native flute) who have found a way to create a unique sound of its own. The blending of these two instruments works wonderfully, especially when the trumpet is muted. Overall the album is jazz influenced acoustic instrumental music garnished with synthesizer textures and occasional singing/spoken word in a number of languages. There are all kinds of evocative sounds throughout these songs, particularly with the percussion instruments. Within this CD The Neurons have combined their excellent musicianship, songwriting and production skills into a wonderful listening adventure as well as something just plain fun to dance to."
