The best power/jangle pop record of the year

"Awesome record! What a collection of tunes! They're all great but "Coronation" really makes an impression. Unusual song structure! How many songs begin with the chorus? The middle bridge section is straight out of "Pet Sounds" and Funk #50 (a play on The James Gang Funk #49?) opens with a tip of the hat from Klatuu's "Calling Occupants", while the verse begins with a quote from "Let's Spend the Night Together". While they are unique songs, they remind you of every glorious pop tune you've ever heard. Layered harmonies, clever lyrics, melodic guitars; they got it all! I hear whispers of Bobby Sutliff, (another guy produced by Mitch Easter), The Windbreakers, Badfinger, Raspberries, The Cavedogs, The Three O'Clock, Color Me Gone, Guadalcanal Diary, DB's, Big Star, Pez Band, etc., etc. There's even a dab of 70's skinny-tie pop rolled in...Superb production by Mitch Easter (as usual). The guitar tone is outstanding, especially on "More Important Things"; it's somewhere just this side of Bowie's "Suffragette City". If you like any of the aforementioned bands, you're gonna *LOVE* this CD."
How messed up is the Music Industry?

"Short and sweet: This is a great album no mater what you label it, pop, power pop, whatever. It's just a damn shame that we are forced to listen to that RAP CRAP when stuff like this is out there, no wait it's not available at this time. WAY TOO BAD!"
A very good band

"Bon je sais, en France, le power pop, ce n'est pas vraiment notre truc, mais bon là pas de déchet avec les Mockers. Le nouveau est en préparation, et j'ai eu de la chance de l'écouter par Seth lorsqu'il est venu sur Paris et c'est top classe, surtout avec le titre Empire Stroke out que vous pouvez déjà écouter sur leur site."
