Sing & Play captures music from MOST of the Marx Movies

"The Marx Brothers "Sing & Play" is a great set to get if your looking for CD versions of Harpo and Chico's solos as well as Groucho's wacky songs. It also includes the sappy, love songs sung by the male and female romantic "leads," as well as music that plays during the opening and closing credits and throughout each movie. The one real problem with the set is that it leaves out the music from their last two movies: "A Night in Casablanca" and "Love Happy." While many Marxists aren't particularly fond of either (though I personally like "ANiC"), the music is missed in this collection. I really wanted ALL of Harpo's harp solos (that's why I picked this up), so that was the one real disappointment. "Sing & Play" is a 3 CD set from France that comes slip-cased in a nice box. Each CD has a booklet insert, featuring a brief, rather poorly written history of the Marxes... in both French and English. Oddly, the SAME booklet appears in all 3 CD cases, with only the volume number on the cover of each being different. There hasn't been any attempt to fix the sound quality and some of the fading is either too slow or too fast. The CDs run approximately 60 minutes, 50 minutes, and 63 minutes, respectively. Like I said, if you want the music from their movies on CD, this is as close as you're gonna get for now."
A must have for those needing wit, laughter, and music!

"I have owned this CD set for two years. I play these three CD's ALL the time and can't imagine them not in my life (seriously!). Their songs range from funny, witty, romantic, hysterical, beautiful (Harpo's version of "Everyone Says I Love You" is a great example), and are appropriate for all occassions! I will be ordering a second set in case anything would every happen (gads!) to the first! Order and enjoy for ever!"
One Problem....

"The concept is great and audio quality is fine, but there is one major flaw...the tracks are all a hair too fast. My guess is that this was compiled from videos of PAL film transfers that are 25 fps, as opposed to the correct U.S. speed of 24 fps."
