CD Reviews

James Dean attitude meets Eddie Cochran guitar!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"These Kats are one of the hottest bands on Long Island and "Roadkill" captures their Rockabilly mayhem for all to hear. Gary D. plays guitar like a mean-eyed snake and Jeff "Daddy Elvis" McLary sings like he was born listening to Eddie and Elvis in his crib. Pete C. slaps his Upright like he's possessed and Mike D. is truly possessed on those skins (check out the opening to "Love Me Like A Train" or "Crazy Dream"!)The thing I like most about this CD is that it isn't at all repetitive like some bands. Roadkill has everything from loud raw rockabilly ("Misunderstood", "Pink Lincoln") to western swing ("Five Long Days") to slow blues ("Rain All Day") to psychobilly/neo-rockabilly ("Tequila and Chainsaws") to straight-ahead rock n' roll ("Love Me Like A Train"). This is a CD to buy and a band to watch!"

"Great rockabilly cuts with nostalgic fat guitar and in your face bass. Not for everyone but if you like Blazing Harley, or STray Cats you will enjoy this one. It rock retro and a lot of fun."
