"Saw these guys live and even though they were the second of three bands, they blew the headliners out of the water. This is a good album, but in my opinion, they're better live. When you think about it though, that's how it should be.
One thing that I really enjoy about this album is every song seems to exist only for itself. That's not to say the album isn't cohesive, or that it's a shoddy compilation of singles; it's just refreshing to listen to an album that comes at you from a bunch of different angles in terms of overall sound. We Sing The Body Electric definitely leans toward pop, but the drumming and overall production help keep it from getting too full-on poppy, and songs like Mt. Constitution and Tomato Soup offer unique sounds and production that're somewhat unexpected and a welcome change after some of the more straight ahead tracks.
I do think the album would benefit from a more aggressive drum sound - something closer to their live sound (at least live at Showbox market sound) - and a slightly more aggressive guitar sound, but I find that's usually the case with bands I see live first before buying the album. The point is, these guys were so good live, I made a point of purchasing the album, rather than trying to get it free. Bands like this deserve our support.

"Saw these guys in opening in Seattle. The 90's nostalgia and quirkiness of the singer and the band translate over well to the recorded album. While not every song is a winner they offer a lot of variety, complex playing, and poppy lyrics. Some songs like "We sing in time" and "Tomato Soup" are emotionally profound and identifiable while others like "Two Pink Pills" are amazingly catchy. Definitly a must buy if you like to stray from mainstream."
