2010 sophomore release from the all-female Pop/Rock quartet. Collectively their mission was to create the lost 60's girl group record of their dreams, and yours. With a little help from Mark Ronson, Alex Greenwald, and the soul and studio sophistication of Dap-Kings Tommy Brenneck and Homer Steinweiss, The Like have happened upon a sure classic. After years on the road with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Kings Of Leon and Muse, they're finally back with Release Me. It's a record about being heartbroken and breaking hearts, years of feverish living, harebrained schemes, and raving-mad relationships, testing boundaries and breaking them all down. In short, it's about growing up!
"Caught these ladies on AOL and had to buy after hearing 10 seconds.
After listening to the whole thing I would buy another just to lock it away for posterity.
People will be listening to this group for years to come : )"
A whole album of perfect pop songs

"Not a single bad song, and that's very rare these days. I downloaded it one morning and listened to it non stop all day at work, and I'm still not tired of it."
The Bangles circa 1983?
Lady Prudence | New York | 07/22/2010
(3 out of 5 stars)
"This album is a lot of fun? At first I thought the Like was an early Bangles ripoff since all their promo shots look identical to the 80's all-girl band the Bangles released as The Bangs, their EP and then All Over the Place. Perhaps the Like is the Bangles for a new generation with their 60's sensibilities. They have their distinct sound and are bound for success!"
May Not Be What You Expect

"I was a huge fan of The Like's first record, so I had incredibly high hopes for this one. That said, this is a really good record, it's just very different from the first. The first had a beautiful hazy quality to it, while this is an homage to or recreation of 60s girl groups."
