"Bust out your visa! This one you have to own. Rockabilly, blues, and a twist of bluegrass makes you wanna' get up and start stomping. Incredibly well written lyrics, amazing guitar hooks, and a fantastic blues harp player all make this my Favorite album. These cats are funny and talented musicians. Im notoriously cheap when It comes to buying music and I have bought 3 copies for friends already."
Only as compared to "Cockadoodledont"

"This is TLSS's first album, and while it sizzles with the same energy of their latest "Cockadoodledont", it is somewhat tentative in comparison. Comparing the two songs that appear on both albums ("Hunkerdown" and "The CB Song") finds the renditions on this album not quite as rich and glorious as they would become later. The sound is a little "thinner", I guess you could say - the arrangements of the songs just not packed with as much intensity and fire. This album is a plate of hot chocolate chip cookies, whereas "Cockadoodledont" is a big pan of jet black chocolate fudge with frosting flowing over the top and down into the oven, making a smoke that fills the kitchen. Also the band is entirely different on this album - only that hairy lunatic Colonel J.D. Wilkes is the same.
Buy this - it's great. "Sherrif's Ranch for Boys" is especially good. But don't stop here. BTW, their new album is due out in October of '05. Yahoooo!!"
An excellent CD from a superior rockabilly blues band!!!

"I have known these guys for years and they consistently out-do themselves. This is the most entertaining band I have ever encountered--no kidding! Whether or not you appreciate good, solid, straight-ahead rockabilly or not, do yourself a favor and buy this CD, listen to it a lot, and then go see the band (they're always touring the South and Midwest), they will blow you away, I promise. You will never see a band with more energy! This CD has more of a country feel than their last album ("JD's Tasteless Chill Tonic" was more bluesy), and has more original tunes as well; all very well-written. It is well worth the meager cost to support one of the best and most underrated bands (of any genre) in the country. Buy this CD!!! You WILL NOT be disappointed."
