This is not the one...

"After purchasing the other quality releases by BGO/BGP, I went in with this one after having a bootleg version recorded from vinyl (a cheap euro version using the original artwork and designs from other Sony/CBS remastered reissues.) When this one arrived in the mail, I looked at the CD thinking, "Finally, the real thing!" To my disappointment, I read the disclosure saying that it was remastered from vinyl for the master tapes were lost. Without hesitation, I sent it back still in the original packaging for a refund! I knew Go All The Way would see the light of day and given it's justice, so I said keep waiting. Didn't have to wait too long because the master tapes are still here at home in the good ol' USA, and has FINALLY made an official apperance thanks to some people just like us who truly made an effort. Iconoclassic Records in association with Legacy has reissued Go All The Way, as well as Showdown, as stand-alone CDs which have been remastered from the studio's original 1st generation master tapes. Included are Chris Jasper's new liner notes (God bless you, Brother Chris!) I just checked out this new label's website and it is outstanding, and hope for more to come. Someone is continuing to reissue these 70's and 80's classic jams (many on CD for the first time) and doing them right! Good luck to Iconoclassic on future projects and hope you will be rewarded for the Isley joints and other current jewels you have worked with.
Additional Notes:
Iconoclassic has also priced their version with the same "NICE PRICE" price as the rest of Isley's Sony/CBS catalog. Nice touch, don't you agree? As for the BGP/BGO version I'm reviewing, thanks for your efforts but no thanks. Twenty-something bucks is too much for this odd pairing 2 on 1 CD recorded from vinyl, but nice try."

"The quintessential Isley Brothers album It's Our Thing is finally on CD. Unfortunately, it's paired with an extremely weak disco album from 1980 and is recorded from an LP source. Although it has been cleaned up, clicks and pops are still audible. This is hardly better than my own LP to file dub. In very small print, the liner notes state that the original master recording is missing. I guess they'll be no deluxe edition of this short but excellent LP.
