"In this time of boy bands and flat-bellied, teen goddesses singing in three octave ranges without an ounce of passion or a sense that they've even lived what they're singing - Ms. Combs sticks out like an orange, nut-covered cheese log on your aunt mae's holiday buffet table. Untouched and totally different(hey, cut me slack here, it's the holidays). For the working stiff, who wants to hear something sweet from the planet earth they reside on: the Heather Combs Band may be a new refuge. After listening to this album, you know Ms. Combs means what she writes and displays the type of intelligence and ackowledgement of life's bumpy but beautiful course explored by other great storytellers who don't pretend life is perfect but explore the range between the good and bad times and revel in the rush and emotion of each and appreciate it for what is - a snap shot of life at a specific point. Lucinda Williams, Melissa Ferrick, Bonnie Riatt, Joni Mitchell and other female rockers come to mind. And like these other great dames - she plays rocks like it should be, unafraid if the force scares some folks away.
Combs voice resonates and drives the mood of each song with tight and polished mixing to steer her along. These two songwriters (Combs & Godwin) click and there ain't no mistaking - they feel and experience what they write about. The songs range from bouncy - almost popping with exhuberance ("Perfectly"...one of my favorite lines: "it's the way you breathe in confidence"), to solitary explorations of finding a place of acceptance("Horns and Halos" and "Treehouse"), to the type of bluesy, hill-billy rock that make me want to start a bar room brawl or at least a serious boot stomping hoe-down ("Last One Standing" and "On My Way To Witchita"). The addition of the Moog to "The Last Go Around" makes me want to crush a couple of Heather's ribs, in a loving embrace, for even knowing what the Moog is and the texture it adds. The CD is worth the price of admission. And you know by the last song, that this woman, and her band, have taken you on a genuine ride. Find a little piece of yourself dancing, hiding or crying in this CD. Or better yet, catch them live. You won't be disappointed- just be sure to wear a seatblet and lay off the sauce."
Well worth the wait!

"I waited anxiously for Heather's second CD to be released, I had played her last one over and over again, till it weaved into my soul and became a part of me. With her second CD all I can say is - this too shall engulf my heart and soul and become a part of me. Every song is exceptional - from the southern rock style of "On my way to Wichita" to the softer introspective "Treehouse"! While listening to the CD you know the songwriting team of Combs and Godwin are on the verge of greatness! And fit "Perfectly". I just hope that "To the Good Times" is not a finale, but an awesome look at what's more to come!"
The most amazing band in the Bay Area!

"I saw Heather in concern last summer and immediately bought a copy of To The Good Times. It's been in my CD player more than any other CD this past year - it's happy and funky and gets me dancing every time. I love her mixture of rock and blues with a little country thrown in. She's one of the best female artists of this decade and I know she's going straight to the top! I highly recommend this CD and can't wait for the next one!"
Can't get enough!

"All bias aside, imagine a busy little coffee bar full of interesting eclectic folks from 7am to 6pm. Caffine crazed commuters to "the ladies who lunch" crowd. Put this recording in the cd changer, play repeat and everyone walks in and stops and asks, "Who IS this?" No kidding, I'll bet we get twenty request a day about our music and The Heather Combs Band is fast becoming a favorite. The music comes from a soul-place and catches everyone as they pass through. I think Treehouse speaks to my heart and I kinda wish I had my own right here at work. You know there is soemthing special when you catch everyone singing along. Each track is so unique we literally listen to the cd all day. The imagery in The Mess that We've Made will make anyone who has ever been in love ache with the lyrics. Perfectly will captivate and make you want to dance and sing right along with her. The band itself is so high energy and if you ever get a chance to watch a live performance there is real musician magic happening. Bring it on Heather, we want more!"
