Synopsis
Album Description If rock music is truly to have a renaissance, then we believe it must be rooted in the finer influences of the genre - the classic albums: The White Album, Led Zeppelin II, Dark Side of the Moon, Skynyrd?s Second Helping, Who?s Next, Exile on Main Street, The MC5, Eat a Peach, DP's Machine Head and the trippy prog-rock of the 1970's. These and many others have influenced the handful, and provided the musical incubator from which The Handful was born. It is in this spirit that, with humility and reverence, the handful have created Palmistry. Behold The Handful. CD ReviewsAwesome Rock CD! K. Olsen | N, New Jersey | 03/21/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "Fresh, crisp sound. Marks vocals are tops. He can swing from a Deep Purple lead vocal sound all the away around and then back again. Simply amazing The Handful is! All this sound from just 2 very with it guys. If your going to buy 1 CD this year, make it this one. " Best New Rock of 2004 StacyNYC | 05/10/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "The Handful's debut cd, Palmistry is simply the best hard rock album to come along in many years. The songs are wide ranging - from the raunchy hard rock of "Rain" to the psychedelic influenced "Thorn In the Garden" this cd is like a candy store of classic hard rock sounds done in a way that is distinctly the handful. it is amazing how the band canshow influences from Lynyrd skynyrd to ELP, but always maintain their own signature sound. The drumming is both daring and fierce, the guitar sound is classic Gibson alll the way, and the vocals are wide ranging and powerful. In my opinion, this is the best Rock album of 2004. Pure new rock music that avoids rap, emo and anything else which might dilute the genre. If this cd gets any airplay at all, the handful will be the next big thing. watch out!" Awesome Jersey Mary | New Jersey | 05/10/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "Wow. These guys are the real deal. I thought rock was dead, but clearly it's not. Everything about The Handful, from the playing to the songwriting, is absolutely killer. I can't believe these guys won't make it huge. I'm just glad I found them while they're still a best kept secret. Rock on guys."
