Synopsis

Album Description
In an age when rock and roll morphs into a hybrid world of colorful new sounds, The Geckos form a rainbow, opening minds and hearts and inspiring the sun to shine just a little brighter. Each artist chooses their inspirations and in doing so rings forth a new sound, a fresh sonic perspective. The Geckos musical landscape incorporates Caribbean classic steel drum rhythms, New Orleans gumbo groove and a deep soulful solution which can, at various times, soothe like warm tropical rain or slightly sting like real life tears. For the music aficionado, here you'll discover original musical lines crisscrossing , echoing with the voices of Wes Montgomery, Van Morrison, Peter Tosh and the Talbot Brothes of Bermuda. Band-built tenor, bass, alto and cello steel drums mingle with an array of acoustic and electric guitars, resurrected vintage keyboards and bass in a world of original compositions. The songs on this new collection "rise up" from the realm of the "Hyper Striper" into the heavens just above the "Big Sky" under the stars which form the "Chesapeake's Crown." The many voices that resonate throughout this collection of 14 songs leap forth from a broad community of superbly talented regional musicians brought together in a classic circle of friends, cross-pollinating in a unique and unified Gecko patios. The message: "Meet Me On the Water" massaged by "Warm Winds" for a sumptuous sharing of "Shrimp & Rice." "What's Your Heart Say?"Micheal Buckley WRNR, DJ

Best ever Geckos

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I've been a fan since 1997. This album explores arrangements both typical of the band and a bit out there. There are a couple of outstanding instrumental cuts. Augmenting their trademark steel pan sound is some excellent, somewhat understated trumpet playing. The performances, with additional guest artists, are all exceptional. The Geckos will be hard pressed to top this one!"
