It's about time!!

"My brother sent me a copy of this CD. I have to admit, it took me a few days before I listened to it. After all, how good could a band be with a name like "The Elktones". Well, I listened to it on my way to work today. Then took it out of the car and listened to it in the office. Then I listened to it on the way home. It is playing as I write this. Finally! A band that has recaptured that wonderful acoustic rock sound of the 70's that the industry has been so sorely missing. Many have tried, but few have succeded. These guys succeed. The writing is fabulous! "Glad when I'm Gone" will rip your heart out! (We've all been there.) "Small Town" makes you wish you lived in one. "Another Fallen Angel" gives you chills. And the harmonies throughout remind you of the great vocal bands of that gone-by era. CSN, Pure Prairie League, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, The Dirt Band et.al. have nothing on these guys. Great guitar work, too. Both acoustically and electrically. Top notch all the way. This is a very talented group of musicians for sure. makes you wonder where they've been hiding. Do youself a favor and pick up this CD. And keep listening for the surprise after the crickets fade out!!"

"There are plenty of bands pumping out there own self-financed albums in these days of inexpensive digital recording equipment. Don't let that distract you from quality of this band and album. These guys are all seasoned pros who, at one point or another, have each decided to get back to the FUN of performing and recording! The album is full of a variety of musical styles, and includes a range of lyrical content: From insightful to whimsical, from morose to sublime. Each song reflects a genuine experience by the songwriter(s) and, without pretense, successfully avoids cliches. This is not a group striving to outclimb others on the ladder to success, yet, ironically, their unpretentiousness is what makes them genuine standouts. I've said too much already. Give yourself a treat and listen for yourself.--Aloha"

"OK, I admit I'm dating myself, but I like music with more than two words in it, and that has a tune you can hum to! These tunes are original, inspired, and really enjoyable to listen to. I like the way these musicians' voices blend together. I like the beat and the excitement in their music. This album makes me want to dance and sing. It brings me joy! It deserves to be heard because it appeals to all ages, from kids to grandparents. May there be many more Elktone albums!"
