Synopsis

Album Description
When Lux Interior & Poison Ivy, founder members of the legendary Cramps, were invited to a New Jersey radio station to discuss their rarities collection 'How To Make A Monster', they barely mentioned the product in question. Instead they sang the virtues of the records they had accumulated during a lifetime of collecting obscure 45s, which we were told had 'a sound to die for'. This 2CD set includes 1 disc of thirty original recordings of the songs that this fiendish duo mentioned in this interview, or covered, sang the praises of or otherwise made public during their delightfully colorful career. 'Chop Suey Rock', 'Do You Mean Jelly Bean' and 'Caterpillar Crawl' rub shoulders with twenty seven other gems, a rare glimpse of the music which informed the work of one of America's finest ever acts is presented here for all to enjoy and learn from. Disc 2 includes the full recording of the very interview mentioned above, plus other discussions made throughout the golden age of The Cramps

Disc one is basically Songs The Cramps Taught Us Various Artists,of great oldies, rockabilly and rare tracks. Disc two is a terrific interview about the history of The Cramps which is 72 minutes long, and extremely informative.
Disc 1 is what's really amazing,it's songs the Cramps love, and songs they covered.
A lot of obscure artists,30 tracks of must haves: Glen Glenn,Jimmie Heap & His Orchestra,The Shades,Ray Harris,Don Covay,Jan & Arnie,The Strangers,Ivan,The Riptides,The Caps,Johnny Kidd & The Pirates,The Playboys,Gene Maltais,The Enchanters,Ersel Hickey,Joe Clay,The Fleetwoods,The Crescents,Ron Thompson,Jimmy Lloyd,Ronnie Dawson,and more.Well worth tracking down,and gets better with each listen.
