CD ReviewsGet Aboard the Aloha Steamtrain Matt Tripolone | Glendale, CA USA | 02/02/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "I first encountered the Aloha Steamtrain when I heard that two of the members of this band (Drummer Brian Marchese and Bassist Henning Ohlenbusch) were working in a side band with Chris Collingwood from Fountains of Wayne. After hearing that, I knew that I had to check this band out. The Aloha Steamtrain plays good old fashioned rock and roll with just a small dash of modern rock and a hearty tablespoon of psychedelia. Leader singer and songwriter Lord Russ has a very deep yet delicate voice that brings the album together. The songs that I really enjoyed included: "Days Like These" - a perfectly sweet love song; "Damned" - sounds just like a post-Beatles John Lennon tune; "Many A Wonderful Thing That Gets Me High" and "Red Delicious Love" - very catchy pop tunes. These guys are practiced in the art of creating catchy songs with great harmonies. This is really a great album to listen to, with a beautifully mellow mood that carries itself throughout the fast and the slow tracks."
