This is a long-overdue 'hits and rarities' U.K. compilation from one of the greatest R&B groups of them all. Led by lead vocalist Johnny Tanner and the guitar of Lowman Pauling, the gospel-infused harmonies of the 5 Royales were and still are integral to the metamorphosis of R&B into soul. Pauling was and remains the idol of Stax's premier guitarist Steve Cropper, who has written a brief note for this CD. Billy Vera has also written a piece for this project. This contains all of the Royales' major King R&B hits, including Think (revived by James Brown in the 70s) and Dedicated To The One I Love. It also contains many tracks that have never been reissued on CD.
