"this is my first ever review for amazon. normally, there are so many other people reviewing things that I don't feel compelled to enter the fray. but it is inconceivable (yes, I do know what that word means) that nobody has written a review of this fantastic album.
that petrol emotion never really fit in any of the categories available to it at the time (or in this time, for that matter), which is probably why they didn't quite catch on. sometimes dancy, sometimes serious, other times poppy and the rest of the time seriously rocking out. their previous album, Babble, set the stage but EOTMPB is where they really hit their stride. they can slide between the sweet down-tempo drone of "The Price of My Soul" to the insanely catchy head bopping dance of "Groove Check" without it feeling forced or any hint of contrivance, which is really the blueprint of this record. it's elusiveness rewards repeated listens. so, if you're into smart, danceable pop that strays occasionally into heavy rock/pop, I highly recommend checking this album out."
