Album DescriptionThe first truly 'solo' album by keyboard great Terry Adams - he is the only musician on the nine tracks - was recorded live in mid-January of 2008, at the artist space The Stone in New York City. Adams, best known as the founder and driving force of NRBQ for nearly four decades, performs on two special and rarely used instruments - the prepared piano and a five-octave celeste. Adams performs songs he specifically composed for the prepared piano as well as a few originals from the past, including Yes, Yes, Yes, from the classic NRBQ album At Yankee Stadium. Three songs are played on the five-octave celeste, a beautiful instrument rarely heard these days. In addition to the title track, his own composition, Adams performs the only two non-original songs on the CD - Bunky & Jake's If I Had A Dream and Thelonious Monk's Pannonica, a song which Monk recorded himself on celeste in 1956. Rhythmic, daring, beautiful, surprising, funny, inspired - Love Letter To Andromeda captures a special performance by one of the most unique musicians in contemporary music.
