CD Reviews

Terminal Sound System

(5 out of 5 stars)

"With their first real release, RH-8SB, Terminal Sound System opens up a world of digital clicks and faded synths for their listening viewers. This album containa 10 really good ambient tracks that just kinda take you away while listening to them. Vocals are never present, but for this type of electronic ambience, they're not needed. If you enjoy this release then try checking out Terminal Sound System's website, you will be treated to FREE downloads (printable art included) of their 4 other albums that were released on the internet. They also have a brand new album released November '04 called "Last Night I Dreamed of Armageddon". A definite buy if you enjoyed this recording."

"Think Autechre without all the Warp, mainstream, sellouty approach to electronic music.
I used to listen to these guys about 3 years back on MP3.com. I loved the minimal digital clicks and subtones overlaying floating melodic pads. They are a big part of what started me into electronic music (listening and composition). If my memory serves me correctly, it sounds as though they've been doing some remastering and remixing of the old, simplistic versions of these tracks. Very professional quality, and very sincere sound.Though not an upbeat album, TSS manages to stir up emotions using equipment that most people would presume to be cold and too calculated to be considered a true art form. But a work of art this album is most definitely."
