CD Reviews

Some of the most fun and catchy music ever recorded.
Lee Cushing | Gypsy Caravan | 03/14/2010
(4 out of 5 stars)

"It's a bleedin' shame that there aren't more reviews of this excellent release. Tenpole Tudor have long been one of my favorite bands--just for their sheer energy and vibe. The group were an amalgam of rousing drinking songs with some traditional British overtones, excellent pub-rock and punk with flavors of rockabilly, bubblegum, and even a touch of funk. Eddie's singular, unhinged vocals backed by a seriously tight, rocking band. Tenpole Tudor weren't deep or pretentious, but their lyrics often contained some real-life wisdom and wry observations couched in seemingly goofy couplets. I can't think of any band that is MORE fun to listen to...I've been a fan for *gulp* almost 30 years now, and I never get tired of them.

This edition contains nearly all their recorded output as well as some great bonus tracks. I urge you to pick this up and try it on for size before it's outta print. Seriously, one of the most criminally underrated bands of the 80s. No way can I be their only fan!"
