"Apparently I am not the first person to search for The Star Carol, nor am I the first to post a review asking for it."

"I've listened to this album (on vinyl) since I was born and must put it on every Christmas season. His powerful voice really suits traditional carols. There are also a couple of great, less common tracks, The Star Carol, Some Children, and O Hearken Ye which are some of my all-time Christmas favourites."

"Tennesee Ernie Ford's The Star Carol LP, #T-1071, was first released on October 20, 1958. It went certified platinum. It was re-released in December of 1988 as a CD. I have listened to this album every Christmas since 1958. Christmas time wouldn't be the same for me or my family without it.
The fact that Ernie Ford's "Hymns" album, released in October of 1956, stayed on the Billboard pop charts for an unprecidented 277 weeks attests to the quality and timeless nature of his recordings.
The Star Carol and Hymns albums should be available in their original arrangements to all generations."

"Yes, I too at one time had a copy of the Star Carol on vinal years ago. It was one of my favorite Christmas albums.
Tennessee Ernie Ford Ford had a voice that you could never forget; I guess this is why I really loved his Star Carol Album.
I do hope one day we'll all be pleasantly surprised that this album will finally be available for purchase on the CD format. Let us hope the wait is not too much longer. Star Carol has been in my Wish List for the longest time now. Perhaps we all should light a chandle.
It's just not the one song (STAR CAROL) that is memorable, there are some that I've never heard before; one comes to mind--SOME CHILDREN SEE HIM. Such a stirring song.
Though it's been some time since I've listened to that album, I thought I'd better put my two cents worth on the subject. Every review written helps. Like the saying goes, 'The pen is mightier than the sword'.

"I have played this album evey Xmas since it came out in 1958. I first heard of it in music class in Junior High from our music teacher. It is one of the, if not the most beautiful Xmas albums ever. I discovered to my dismay, this year, that there is a scratch on one side. It is still worth listening to, even with the scratch. The 'Old Peapicker' has such a rich, clear voice, it gives one goose bumps. If it is ever re-released, I will be first in line to get another copy. I wish some one in the know would see fit to release it on CD, the way is was printed on the vinyl version. So many times, albums released on CD are different from the original."
