CD ReviewsThe Greatest Unknown Band Around Mark R. Loft | Memphis, TN | 02/26/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "Mark McKinney's songwriting, combined with the pickin'-wizardry of Eric Lewis and Andy Ratliff make this one awesome album. Some slow stuff (New York City on the Floor, Midtown) good for singing along with in the car, a fun tune like "Everybody", and some serious soul-searching found in "Heart of Stone" round out the list, and make it nearly impossible to classify. It's alt-something, but what? It's not bluegrass, not country, not folk, and "Americana" is too much of an overused and general label to do anyone any good. Bottom line, it's a great foot-tappin' effort with a lot of soul. And you won't find any nicer guys anywhere. They've got a new CD due out Spring, '05, but it was due out Fall, '04, so who knows? Buy this one until the new one comes out.... you'll love it."
