"Teenage Head got banned from my high school back around 79/80 or so, so it's all good."

"Canada had some rippin' bands in the late 70's/early 80's, and Teenage Head were one of the best examples. I have no idea why Canada gets so overlooked down here in the states. Maybe it's because so many of those bands never got around to touring our vast expanses on a regular basis (D.O.A. being the exception). Maybe it's because of Canadian record labels not having the distribution muscle in our market. Whatever. Either way it's a damn shame more yanks don't know about Teenage Head or about this album in particular. It's amazing from start to finish, full of catchy, memorable punked-up rock 'n roll with that great late 70's raw, crisp, yet full analog production. Somebody said in an earlier review it sounds like The Ramones with a Chuck Berry edge, and I'd have to agree... but I hear all kinds of great rock 'n roll influences in there. Mainly that of the band they took their name from - The Flamin' Groovies, specifically first album-era Groovies. There's also a pretty heavy nod to the New York Dolls, which is obvious not only in their overall sound, but in their back-cover look as well. I remember the first time I ever heard or saw Teenage Head was in the '82 punksploitation movie "Class of 1984", where they were briefly shown playing their awesome "Ain't Got No Sense" to a rowdy crowd of Toronto punks (with a few actors thrown in), and for years I looked for their records without any results. I finally scored this amazing disc many years later via ebay, and I was anything but disappointed. This is top-rate stuff that keeps a perfect balance of punk aggression and rock 'n roll attitude. Very much needs to be re-issued. Get it if you can find it."

"This is positively my favorite Canadian rock album of all-time! This new version has several bonus songs, including their great and hilarious "Disgusteen"-currently available on "Frantic City". We need this back in print!!"
