Product DescriptionThis new release combines Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony and the Fourth Orchestral Suite making a spectacular combination. Tchaikovsky's darker side is shown in the Symphony No. 4 while the Suite No. 4 shows a much lighter side.
Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony earned the nickname "Fate Symphony" since its main
theme describes the turbulence in his personal life. His disastrous marriage left him with an overall feeling of despair and hopelessness.
In contrast the Fourth Orchestral Suite is lighter and more straightforward. The suite incorporates a number of variations. The piece is more in the style of Mozart and it focuses on a many of the instruments such as a glockenspiel and cymbals that give the music a whimsical touch.
