CD Reviews

Maybe You Deserve This Album... Seriously

"Contrary to what others may say, Tank IS a Force of Nature. His style, his voice, his lyrics - they all form a new kind of talent. Off the top, it may seem that Tank is just another run-of-the-mill R&B artists following the "booty-this booty-that" supercliched mold that many, many others before him have hid behind throughout their careers. But once I got a closer listen, I was blown away. The talent is flowing from this guy in every direction. Granted, most of his tracks are "club ready", but that's not to say they still aren't great tracks. However, I strongly believe that Tank shines more on his slower tracks. "Maybe I Deserve" is a very innovative song about trust and betrayal - with a twist. "Slowly" is the perfect song to play with your girl (or guy) after a long stressful day - you don't need to talk or think about it, just play it and let the music move you... "Kill 4 You" is also another standout track. It explains just that - how sometimes your love for someone can be so strong that you WOULD kill for them. The remix to "Maybe I Deserve" also stood out with me. It's the same lyrics (switched up a little) placed to a more uptempo beat. (His harmonies on this song, and the rest of the CD as well, are AMAZING.) Overall, I can see that Tank's gonna be here for a little while. If you're feelin' Jaheim's "Ghetto Love", Koffee Brown's "Mars/Venus", Jon B.'s "Pleasures U Like" or Musiq's "Aijuswanaseing", you'll definately like Tank.(For all who claim not to like this guy, I DARE you to listen to "Kill 4 You" or "Slowly" and I guarantee that this album will be in your collection in no time...)[[blaze]]"

"I have to say when i first brought this CD i really wasnt feeling it to much.. However after a few more listening to it .. It started to grow on me .. There is no question Tank have the vocal skills he has a very good voice, he has a voice that cant be compared to any one else he has own style.. Tank shines on such cuts as the current single Maybe I Deserve, Cant Get Down, Lady On My Block, the slow burning ballad Slowly which is the best song on the CD this song will remind you of Prince at his best on a ballad .. Put Your Hands Up a funky uptempo cut showing that Tank can do the uptempo tunes as well as he can do the slow tunes.. Kill 4 You, Street Life all these songs are very good.. However at times the CD gets bog down with sub-par material like What What , Designiated Driver, Bounce and Grind.. Nevertheless the good outweighs the bad on this CD.. Tank deserves a listen.. Hopefully on his next album it will be more consistent.. Tank is certainly on his way to be a force in the music business"
Ahhhhhhhhhhh Something with a good twist

"TIGHT!!! TIGHT!!!! TIGHT!!! That's the best way to describe this disc. All of the songs are tight especially the lead single "Maybe I Deserve"(which got me hooked from the get go), but the album really belongs to him on tracks like "Kill 4 You",Lady on my block", What What What, Get Your Hands Up, and Freaky. Tank Is on some sh!t and it's funky.....Keep Bangin' Dawg"
