Synopsis

Album Description
CD reissue of this title from the innovative German Electronica outfit, one of the most influential instrumental outfits of the 20th century. Tangerine Dream has never produced anything calculated to make the masses jump off their chairs and start screaming Top 40 tunes, but they have managed to have an immense impact in the world of Electronic and soundtrack music. Their 107 (and counting) studio, live and soundtrack releases have their own driving hypnotic pieces that might differ from release to release, but they are all uniquely Tangerine Dream. Document. 2009.

CD Reviews

Something New, Something Borrowed......
Mr. Richard D. Coreno | Berea, Ohio USA | 07/31/2009
(3 out of 5 stars)

"Within the past two years, Edgar Froese has yet again slammed the marketplace with Tangerine Dream albums, which is a game that can be very frustrating for fans and collectors.

The 12 tracks that clock in at nearly 80 minutes is Froese again taking previous material and creating "new" music through rerecording and remastering. The nearly 15:30 of Boat to China and Landing on 51 makes for an intriguing ambience to kick things off, but it's the longer tracks - Run to Vegas (10:12), Huckabee's Dream (10:45) - where Froese can dabble with his electronica canvas.

Hardly an essential TD release, it is a snapshot of a moment in time for Froese in an ongoing series of (re)interpreting the old with a new vision."
