Awesome - BTM at its Best!

"This is, argubly, the best Back to Mine yet. The sounds on this CD are very ecclectic. Unlike other BTM, this has a very Asian flair to it. Among the top songs on the CD: Dance - U Srinivas And Michael Brook: Subdued start and then it gets kicking
Lost Blue Heaven - Photek - Awesome song (check out the Photek remix for the Six Feet Under title song)
Monsoon - Vibrasphere
After (Atjazz Remix) - Dzihan And Kamein
Mustt Mustt (Massive Attack Remix) - Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn A little under half the songs are NOT in English - which is one of the CD's greatest appeal. The beats are universal and the mood this CD provides transcends any language..."
Worldish Success For the Back to Mine Series

"Back to Mine is a real hit or miss series in my opinion. The 8th album of the series comes courtesy of world music enthusiest Talvin Singh.
After hearing the first 5 tracks of this album, I initially thought Talvin's mix was on its way to rival the great Dave Seaman release. Unfortunately he decided to include "Kabhi Unke Milan Ke Asha Ne" by Swati Natekar into the mix. A terrible track that sounds like something out of a Bollywood movie from India. The mixing is nothing too exciting either, even for a downtempo/chillout album. Otherwise a cool album to listen to and dream the day away. Most of the tracks would fall under the category of "world" music. Usually I find these albums annoying, but Singh's featured tracks are very good (except track 6) and the set is fairly eclectic. A worthy addition for fans of the Back to Mine series.
4/5 stars."
