""A TALE OF CINDERELLA" with book by W.A. Frankonis and music and lyrics by Will Severin and George David Weiss is like finding a wonderful jewel in the midst of a lot of garbage. "Modern" musicals are, for the most part, lame attempts to be different made worse by forced originality. This delightful story and score, wonderfully performed by a very talented cast at the New York State Theatre Institute (in Troy, NY!), is as accessible as they come and a great introduction to the musical theatre for youngsters. The songs are sweeping and clever and heartfelt, and there's just enough dialog in the CD to convey the Italinate flavor of the show. The Warner Home Video release includes the entire show, which can also be seen on PBS, where it will be an occasional "special" through 2001. "A TALE OF CINDERELLA" is a great new show, just waiting to be discovered and put on the road or into a Broadway theatre where it belongs. You won't be disappointed in this CD.There are educational materials associated with "A TALE OF CINDERELLA" available from the NYS Theatre Institute."

"Recently given this by a friend...who will be thanked over and over. In a piece driven by the power of the stars, nothing can compare to the star power of Christianne Tisdale. Blessed with a close to three and half octave range, vocally diverse, sparked with humanity, she steals the show...the most human Cinderella I've come across (And I just found her website). Sean Sullivan and John Romeo shine."
The most fantastic version of "Cinderella"!!

"Listenning to "Cinderella" have become a routine of my life since the day I bought it. The story itself is not boring and simple--(finally I know why the father falls in love with such an evil). Every song is written perfectly well because I can feel and understand what all characters are thinking, they are not just the typed characters anymore--and all are sung perfectly well also. The song "Show Off" can present the idea of jealousy vividly--just like I feel sometime!! And I chose "LOVE, LOVE.." and "BELL/MI DISPIACE" to present in my musical theatre class, needless to say, all of my class mates loved them very much."
An absolutely terrific musical retelling of Cinderella!

"Wow, hooray, and FINALLY!!! The story of Cinderella retold in a musical that doesn't portray Cinderella or the Prince as boring, simpering, Ken and Barbies who are manipulated by everyone around them. Finally, a Cinderella and a Prince with backbone, intelligence and a sense of humor!! Now THIS is a fairy tale musical I'm happy for my kids to see and listen to! Plus, it's got a wonderfully original relationship between the fairy godmother and sort of fairy godfather that shows kids love can happen after age 18. What a concept! Super music to top it off! Way to go."
