CD Reviews

Excellent follow-up to "Beautiful World"

"The song "Rule the World" was featured in the motion picture "Stardust" which was released in the US this year. Although little known in the US, Take That is a top act in Europe and thing song has hit the top 10 list in the UK immediately after its release.

I hope this song makes it to the US because it is just the type of pop tune that could be a big hit here, if only it was given the proper radio exposure. Those who have seen "Stardust" will already know the song, but I actually only discovered this while browsing through one of my favorite video internet sites. I have long been a "Take That" fan and was glad to hear that this single was available via Amazon.

"Rule the World" features Gary Barlow's beautiful, soaring vocals while Howie Donald sings "You can rule the world" in the background. The romantic but upbeat tune and lyrics is a wonderfully complemented by Gary's soulful voice and the band performs this song in perfect pitch. The other song that comes with this is "Stay Together" which is another upbeat pop song that features Mark Owen as lead vocalist.

This is an excellent follow-up to the album "Beautiful World." If you are a Take That fan, then this is a must have. The single "Rule the World" alone is well worth the price of the CD."
Why aren't these guys more popular in the U.S.?

"I became aware of "Rule The World" last night whilst listening to a UK pop station on DirecTV. I was 1/4 way into enjoying the song before I saw that it was Take That! I can't say that I was too surprised. Take That have a knack for singing slow songs that appeal to me. I say that because I don't even like slow music! Can't stand it actually. I've listened to RTW a few times today and it's just great. Even now that I'm not listening to it, the I'm haunted by the sweet melody and dying to hear it again! My initial thought was that it has a Bee Gees flavour to it. Believe you me, that's a compliment and a half! I'll have to get a copy of this (or download it) and put it alongside my prized "Beautiful World" cd. :)"
Take That at their best!

"This is a beautiful song - soaring melody, sweet lyrics, and has the big chorus that has become a bit if a trademark for Take That.

The song really lets Gary's voice shine and shows his vocal dexterity. Ofcourse, their latest album, "Beautiful World", shows that Mark, Howard and Jason can sing lead, too. And, boy, can these guys write harmonies!

I totally agree with the reviews above. "Stardust" was a big hit in the US, and so I hope that this will get them noticed over there more. It's scandalous that they have not been nominated for the 'Best Original Song' Golden Globe, and they thoroughly deserve an Oscar nom..

This song is worth any price put on it, and is one of my favourite songs ever written. Well done, boys, you Rule! Altogether now... Ooooooooh, ooooooooh!"
