Album DescriptionSydney band Tactics existed for a decade from 1978 to 1988 during which time they helped define the Australian 'new wave' sound. Along the way they released four essential (and long deleted) studio albums, a live album of new recordings and a handful of now collectible and impossibly rare singles and EPs. 'The Sound of the Sound' is an extensive two volume series that compiles the band's entire recorded output and presents the discs in an attractive gatefold card wallet with large booklets with extensive liners and archival material. All tracks have been re mastered. 'Sound of the Sound Volume 2' is a 42 track, double disc compilation that focuses on the band's later output, when they experienced their closest shave with commercial success. It features the 'Blue and White Future Whale' album (1986), the unreleased (and vastly superior) demos of the 'Great Gusto' album (released on Regular in 1989), their later singles, plus oodles of live, unreleased and demo tracks.
