Deep and meditative, T*raumfrequenz's first release, Pfad Mit Hertz," (a play on words: "Pfad Mit Herz" is "path with heart"; his moniker means "dream frequency") is, in fact, a dreamy journey into rhythm and tone. It opens simply, expanding gently, just beyond the edge of expectation to the next possibility in sound and form. Just when "Sonnenwende" is about to carry you back to Jean-Michel Jarre or Future Sound of London-like ecstasy, T*raumfrequenz brings you back to the here and now by adding an acoustic piano that seems to be played at the end of a long hallway. Subtle pops and clicks animate Voyage & Mélange, while Gespinnste evokes floating; the sensation of being on or under water fills the head while the ears ascend through tonal wonder. When Executive Producer Malcolm Moore was asked to describe the album in a short sentence, he said this: 44 minutes of staring out the window, thinking.
