"This has certainly held its own in great recordings of the Dvorak 8th. My favorite is Kertesz's recording on the now defunct "Weekend Classics" series on London/Decca. Also very good is Sawallisch's recording on Seraphim. My only real beef about this performance is the lack of hearing the last 16th note "kick" in the last bar of the symphony. Note also that you can get this performance on a double decca now with the Symphonies 7 and 9, but the discs are not as well filled and I don't think the Scherzo Capriccioso is on there. What a great performance of that work: dashing, exciting and full of Czech temperament. Great sound quality also."
