"This live version of Bruckner's Fifth with the Vienna Philharmonic and Klemperer is rare indeed! It sings more than others, thanks to the Vienna, and Klemp shows us a lighter side of the 5th (but not as light as Knappertsbusch's Decca 5th!)The performance moves with such flow, its quite remarkable how free it sounds. It's very different than Klemp's discontinued studio fifth on EMI, which is heavy duty Bruckner.All in all, I wouldn't say definitive (I've heard the Sinopoli on DG is "the one", and I'm eargerly waiting to experience it) but this one is very interesting and sweet sounding nevertheless...but definitive if you're a hard-core Klemp fan like me!"
