"I never "got" Brahms' 3rd symphony until I heard this performance. Since then, it has become my very favorite of the four Brahms symphonies. Most other conductors just don't seem to be able to "pull off" this symphony convincingly, and as a result, most listeners just don't think there's any "there" there. I was one such listener before hearing this performance. Cantelli's interpretation is stunning. It pulls together the entire work in a way that is not only unique but leaves you appreciating this as such a moving and important piece of music. I can't recommend this performance enough."
