"I was searching for a Mahler edtion of this piece. I was unable to locate one so I decided to try out Anton Bruckner's original edition of this symphony. Bruckner looked to Wagner as a master of the symphonic pallet. He developed his own concepts from Wagner's model. Bruckner is a master of symphonic music as well. Bruckner and Wagner came from two different spiritual perspectives. Bruckner brought to this compostion a his very own inovatitive concept. Bruckner's use of the symphonic pallet is displayed with more variation and breadth than many of his contemporaries. The piece produces unmistakeable musical majesty, and the orchestra recorded here displays this. If you don't give yourself an opportuniy to listen to this original version of Bruckner's Symphony No. 3 you'll miss an awe inspiring opportunity."
