"The composition style on this disc seems to be part Mozart and part Beethoven. And the result, as you would expect after those two names are referred to, is some excellent music. This also makes perfect sense when you consider that Clementi was born one year after Mozart and passed away 5 years after Beethoven. There is the beauty of Mozart in the overtures and minuettos, with major notes ever-present throughout each piece. But there is also the strength and passion of Beethoven's orchestral works at all the right times, particulary in the finales and at the end of the overtures. I highly recommend this disc for those fans of Classical and Early Romantic large-scale orchestral works. You will not be disappointed."
