"If it could be said of any conductor that he or she has a great feel for Mozart, then it's Sir Neville Marriner. Although I prefer more Romantic interpretations of Mozart's late symphonies, Marriner and the ASMF are fantastic with the symphonies in this set. The 25th is one of my favorites. Remember the movie Amadeus when they find Salieri attempting suicide. The dramatic opening of Mozart's 25th symphony was the music you heard. Oh, by the way, the smaller size of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields really works well for these compositions."
Sir Marriner and the ASMF give a wonderful performance

"Symphony no. 25 in g minor is my favorite of Mozart's symphonies and I love the copy that is on this CD. The tempo is perfect and the group is well balanced. The Academy and Sir Marriner did a wonderful job on this recording"
