Synopsis
Album Description BBE Records in conjunction with Spilt Milk is proud to release the S1 and Illmind producer collaboration project, The Art Of One Mind. This collaboration project is the birth of a musical relationship expanding from the grimy organic sounds of Illmind?s tri-state roots (New Jersey, Philly, and NYC), as well as the soulful hip-hop swing style of Texas?s own producer, S1. Split Milk is responsible for the release of The Strange Fruit Project?s albums From Devine and Soul Travellin? (both produced by S1 and feature additional production by Illmind). The Art Of One Mind project features an array of music from soul to R&B to Hip-Hop. Artists featured include Ghostface Killah (Wu-Tang Clan), Little Brother, El Da Sensei (formerly of The Artifacts), Chip Fu (formerly of the Fu-Shnickens), Strange Fruit Project, Supastition, Darien Brockington (Foreign Exchange), and a host of other talented artists. The Art Of One Mind will lead off with a 12" EP including the tracks "The Broke Song" (feat. Strange Fruit Project), "Night Like This" (feat. Darien Brockington and Big Pooh of Little Brother), and "One Mind" (feat. El Da Sensei and Chip Fu). With a variety of urban music, all beat fanatics and soul music lovers alike will talk about this compilation for quite some time. |
CD ReviewsGreat cd but... Al Green | teaneck, new jersey United States | 08/11/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "i've been diggin on s1 and illmind for a minute now, however amazon doesn't offer the 'explicit lyrics' version. i just received my copy in the mail and i'm a bit disappointed that all the so-called "bad words" are bleeped out. if i wanted to listen to a radio version i would turn on my radio. its difficult to get into the rhyme skills of these gifted brothas when i keep getting distracted by the censorship. and yes i'm a grown *ss man so i can listen to cussin' if i so choose. other than that the disc is quite exceptional." ILLMIND IS DOPE Tony B. | Jax. FL | 06/28/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "Buy this album...Illmind is an extraordinary producer. If you love 9th Wonder beats ( like me ) you'll love this dude. Cop it !"
