CD Reviews

The best swing cd in the world

"I hope that if you read this review you will take a minute to listen to the samples of this awsome CD.
I absolutely love it. Since the day I first danced to the sounds of Swing Session band in San Francisco, I fell in love with their unique style and became addicted to swing dancing. I could not wait for the Whispering Grass CD to come out. "Whispering Grass" is my absolutely favorite song. I also love the " How come", the "White cliffs of dover" and "After all i've been to you". These songs make my heart swing."
Amazing! Great Lindy Hop Music!!!

"These boys swing with the best of them. Their covers are just as good, if not better than, the originals. And their original songs sound so much like period songs that I'm not sure if one is new or old until I take a look at the liner notes! This is a world-class band. Erv's sax has never sounded better. Pop's vocals are gritty, yet smooth. When these boys play, you better make sure you've got room to dance, because you won't be able to control your feet. This is one of my prized CDs. "White Cliffs of Dover" and "Saxawoogie" are my current faves, but not by much. Every cut is a gem."
Surprising smooth swing

"These guys love to swing and it shows. As with their first album "The Swing Session" it took me a bit getting used to, but once the penny dropped "Whispering Grass" didn't leave my cd player for weeks (and still listening almost daily). You can't sit still listening to them, that's for sure. It's a perfect mix of vocals and instrumentals and everything swings. Nothing hard, all very smooth.
I think this album is better than their first: more melodious, more rythmic (for lack of a better word), beautiful arrangements and a better overal production.
But, hey, these words are so boring. Stop reading and go listen to this beauty!"
