"Two sisters, Janis (then married to Vince Gill) and Kristine, briefly achieved success in the late eighties following the success of the Judds, but that success only lasted for two albums. This was their third album but it seems that the radio stations and the fans were already looking elsewhere. This album, brilliant as it is, made much less impact than it deserved to.
The set opens with Uphill all the way, a great up-tempo song and one of several songs here that Janis wrote or co-wrote. After that come two superb ballads (He doesn't tell me anything, You look at love that way) before another up-tempo song, This heart. So the album continues, with a mix of songs of varying tempos, all equally brilliant.
If you enjoy the music recorded by the Judds in the eighties, you will also enjoy the Sweethearts of the rodeo, who took their name from the famous Byrds album and emphasized the connection by using similar artwork for the cover of this album."
