"Susan Werner has to be one of the most underrated singer songwriters around. I own all her CD's, but this one may be the best. Beautiful vocal quality and insightful lyrics make her a joy to listen to. I would put her in the same company as Dar Williams, Mary Chapin Carpenter (but not counry), and maybe Suzanne Vega. It seems odd that even though she was in a PBS Special with Peter Paul and Mary, she hasn't become very well known yet. Be one of the first to discover her and you won't be disappointed"
VERY Pleasantly Surprised

"Last of the Straight Girls was an investment I made completely on a whim. I'd heard one of Susan Werner's songs, and it wasn't one from this album. When I received it, however, I couldn't stop listening to it. "Last of the Good Straight Girls" is realistic...with a cheerful twist. Werner's vocal talent is immediately apparent from the beginning of this first track. The album refuses to lose momentum as it goes on. "Still Believe" is beautiful and important, "Man I Used to Love" is strong and upbeat. "St.Marys of Regret" has brilliant lyrics. Must I go on? If you're seeking some great music from an incredibly talented woman, this album is definitely worth checking out."
