In addition, this beautiful Japanese import also features two bonus tracks (see track listing). Truly a charming way to reissue "REFLECTIONS" of Diana Ross and The Supremes."

MYSTICAL DIANA

"I call this the MYSTICAL Diana/Supremes LP. From the Bizarre intro of REFLECTIONS (HDH claimed that they were walking in the studio one day and heard an engineer making wierd sounds with his equipment. They quickly borrowed the idea for the intro to REFLECTIONS!) the songs echoe a deeper and pondering Miss Ross. BAH BAH BAH sounds like a Kabbalistic Dirge. The ODE TO BILLIE JOE prefaces Ross' later work as JaZZ diva. The stunning UP, UP AND AWAY has a sadness that is ironic. The Tour De Force is I CANT MAKE IT ALONE. This is Diana's most resplendant song in the 60's - equal in it's FORCE and IMPACT Dusty's ALL I SEE IS YOU and YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE ME. Ross's voice is Strong but Majestic and the melody is haunting. She sings 'the pleasures of my life, I placed them into your hands, now suddenly you've gone, and make a change in plans, that won't include me now...that world of pleasant dreams, is but a nightmare now...it's all over now that dream is over now'. The depth and beauty of the song are perhaps the reason why it was never released as a single - it was too beautiful (as Billie Holiday once wrong of her song Same Old Story). This is a Beautiful albumn. The lovely ALL I KNOW ABOUT YOU - an old Side B that was never released in the US on LP is a great addition. This is the Diana/Mary and Flo at their best - Diana's blossoming style and her close promixty to Biliie's sadness are coming to fruition. Brilliant."
