"I kept on seeing this CD in the Christian bookstore and thinking that "Superchic[k]" was an awesome name for a band. After hearing "Barlow Girls" that was it, I had to get it! So I begged and sure enough it was under the Christmas tree. THIS CD IS HARDLY EVER OUT OF MY PLAYER! I'll just give it a quick, er, sorta quick, overview:
1)Barlow Girls-Of course who could not love this one. Great message too. *** (out of ***)
2)Big Star Machine-Easy to sing along to, and can't we all relate? **
3)Karaoke Superstars-When I get my drivers liscence, this is definitely a song I'm gonna be playing full blast!! And basically that's what it's about...singin as loud as you can and not caring what the world says...***
4)Get Up-Very encouraging song **
5)Not Done Yet-A song for when life [stinks]. But in the long run it doesn't really matter. **
6)Super Trouper-I love the lyrics on this one! So original. ***
7)TV Land-Haven't we all wondered why life isn't like it is on TV? And why are they portraying this phony [stuff] to us daily anyway?! **
8)Help Me Out God-Very catchy, and if you're a Christian you can doubly relate. ***
9)One Girl Revolution-Maybe all you guys out there won't want to jam to this, but it is definitely a girl-kick...song!!! ***
10)Alright-With a chorus soley made up of the words "It'll be OK it'll be Alright", how much easier does it get to sing along? **
11)Let it Be-Almost has a slower, jazz feel to it. In a punk/pop way :) This song is like my message in life. ***The remixes are awesome as well! Especially the One Girl Revolution Mob-Action Mix. I think it's even better than the original version. This band rocks, and I thoroughly encourage you to get it!!!!"

"Superchick is such a fun band. The tunes are so hot and the lyrics are even hotter. My favorite songs are: Barlow Girls, Big Star Machine, Karaoke Superstars, Get Up, Super Trouper, TV Land, and Let it Be. I realize I just spotlighted the majority of the CD, but that's just how good it is. The theme of the CD is basically that it doesn't matter what the media says or what other people think because I'm exactly how I need to be and God's on my side. It's all very inspiring to here lyrics like, "it's a dumb philosophy to judge by popularity" and TV Land says, "Barbie's not a role model; she's only makebelieve." It's fun to sing songs while driving down the road and actually know that what I'm singing isn't polluting my faith.Buy the CD if you like fun music. My other favorite bands are: OC Supertones, Five Iron Frenzy, Jennifer Knapp, Toby Mac, Third Day, Rebecca St. James, and probably something else that I can't remember. Another CD that is amazing is Paige's self-titled CD. She's about 16, I think, and has awesome songs that have the same feeling as Superchick's. (...)"
Well worth owning

"This is a great CD. Music, lyrics, vocals - it all works in a cool kind of grungy garage genuine way. The lead vocalist is a female voice, which is a welcome change from the male-dominated garage music world, and moreover it is a voice that is not only easy on the ears, but capable of changing timbre and depth for different songs. Very nice! The music's brilliant too, so easy to sing along to, the kind of songs you can turn up loud whenever you feel happy, or down, or when you need some great music for cruising. Initially the songs might sound a little similar, but they come into their own as individual songs with a second listen. Superchic[k] impresses me most with their lyrics. There are some great, great tracks here, dealing with so many hard issues facing most of us at one time or another: insecurity, courage, abstinence, the pressure to look good, and friendships. That probably makes it sound unbearably self-righteous, but whoever writes these lyrics is obviously for real, and the underlying philosophy behind these people is something we all probably need a bit more of - that it's okay to be who you are, and that you don't have to try to impress anyone is not something you hear much. But finally we have a group that speaks through its music with real relevance and intelligence: full props to Superchic[k] for giving us excellent music AND excellent lyrics (almost unheard of these days). Brilliant! All the songs on this album are outstanding, but standouts for me are: "Barlow Girls", "Karaoke Superstars", "Not Done Yet" and the fabulous "One Girl Revolution" which appeared on the movie soundtrack for "Legally Blonde". That last song alone ought to be required listening for any girl who ever feels she needs to be something she's not. I knew only one song before I bought this album, and have not been disappointed at all, I can't stop listening to it. Fun is the right word to use. It's truly a worthwhile CD and I totally recommend it. This is certainly one great album."
Superchick, that is.

"Although some of the songs placed on the album may be God-related, it's still worth investing in even when you do not believe. In fact, that goes for me. And yet I love this CD. The songs are really brightly written and played with great commitment. You should not only listen to the guitars but to the lyrics aswell. In fact, all the lyrics contain a core of truth! It could be very inspiring and could help to see your own life in a more colorful way.It took me a while to get this CD, for I'm not living in the US. So don't be frightened off if you have to do a little effort for it; it really is worth it. Just order this CD and listen for yourself!"

"Best Songs on this CD in my opinion
Barlow Girls
Get Up (available on other CD's of theirs)
Souper Trouper
Karaoke Superstars
You have to read the lyrics because some of the songs have a really great message and you will like the songs better if you understand that aspect. This is not my favorite CD of theirs but still love it.
I discovered this group when I heard their new song "Stand in the Rain" playing on KLOVE, the Christian radio station. I then realized they sing a lot of songs I recognize. They reminded me of some bands I listened to back in college. They have a good sound but a positive message. I'm in my 30's and I appreciate them a lot. Whether you are an adult going through hard times like divorce or a kid just getting through high school, you will definitely appreciate their music. I downloaded all their available cd's off Itunes. They repeat songs on their albums which means you will sometimes get multiple copies of a song if you purchase all their CD's but they tend to be a different remix so it's still ok to have both.
