A pleasant overview of their early material

"While not really a greatest hits compilation, this CD provides a pleasant overview of their early material and does include some of their biggest American hits. The CD starts out with the title song, arguably one of the best love songs of the 60's. In addition to the title song, which went to No. 1 on Cashbox Magazine's singles chart, this CD also includes 4 other hits that made the Cashbox Top 10. They are "If I Loved You", "Willow Weep For Me", "Yesterday's Gone", and C&J's cover of the Lennon-McCartney song, "From A Window". In addition to these great recordings, this CD also includes great cover versions of "September In The Rain", Girl From Ipanema", and "It Was a Very Good Year". Unlike other compilations, this CD also contains hard to find recordings of "Your Mother's Out of Town", and "Sleep Little Boy". Also featured are live recordings of "If I Had My Way" and "Yesterday's Gone". Many people don't realize that Chad Stuart wrote most of the orchestral arrangements heard on this CD. Listen to the way he incorporates swirling strings in "If I Loved You", or the way he uses accoustic guitar and flute on "Sleep Little Boy". Also, the harmonica on "September In The Rain" is positively breathtaking. The tone quality of this CD is stunning and the notes are great. This is a great addition to any Chad & Jeremy fan's music library. The only thing that could have made this better would have been the inclusion of the instrumental "Only For The Young" which was featured on their first American lp, but has never shown up on a domestic compilation cd."
