Sink or Swim brings five new songs of absolutely beautiful, haunting melancholy from Summer at Shatter Creek. The moniker represents one Craig Gurwich, whose captivating and sincere pop music has been crafted into two amazing previous releases, Summer at Shatter Creek and Semi-Live, both on Absolutely Kosher. One could say this EP is "stripped-down," as it lacks the heavy production of the full-lengths, but essentially it lacks nothing. On this EP, Gurwich's twinkling piano, ghost-chorus back-up wails, and gorgeous presentation of vocal abilities fill the stereo in such a way that an overwhelming amount of elements cannot: with pure, basic song.
