"Let me just put it this way: this CD has been in my "regular rotation" rack for around nine years now. This CD and I go back a ways... a great album that the masses never really caught on to. My personal favorite song on the album is Sheffield Milestone... great song. Good album, start to finish. But like the other guy said, you'll probably end up skipping Shine Boy.Their sound kind of reminds me of old Black Sabbath. It just smacks you down with awesomeness. It's really a shame these guys didn't put out more albums. This stuff is way better than a lot of the music that was popular back in the day... I guess there was too much rockin' going on back then for enough people to pay attention to these guys.Yeah, but like I said... get it. You won't regret it (unless you listen to crap)."
Sugar sugar sugar

"Aptly named, the first Sugartooth cd is one of the sweetest rock albums/cd's to ever grace the human ear. I have had this cd since 1994 (stolen once, bought it again) and it has been one of the most regularly played cd's in my collection of over 300. I listen to it at least once or twice a month...just a phenomenal mix of perfect melody and deep bass guitar and drums. I hate that they were soooo over looked at the end of the "grunge rock" craze, tho they can't be put into that mold. They combine old Led Zep and Soundgarden into a mix that just reaches over the years and never sounds old. If you like grunge rock, classic rock, or any form of good metal-based rock, you will love this cd for years to come. If I had to give up all of my cd's except for one, this would be my keeper. I know "Shine Boy" (track 9) has always received criticism for its totally different sound/vocals, but it really rounds out the cd.
Overall, this cd was one of the finest ever created. Don't miss out if you can get your hands on it."
Another Lost 90's Classic

"The best 90's heavy music that got lost between the demise of Grunge and the advent of Nu-metal (and are related to both). Sugartooth, Only Living Witness, Chum, Sex Love & Money, New Idol Sun, Mindfunk (the "Dropped" album. You can pick them all up here for between .01 cent and 5 bucks. Great bands that just got lost in the shuffle between trends. You can have yourself a big modern metal feast on the cheap! If you like Soundgarden, Kyuss, Godsmack...do these."
Modern-Day Black Sabbath

"Sugartooth were one of those bands that got screwed by record label morons and paid the price. They were signed to Capital Records, who didn't approve of their debut recording, shelved it and made the band wait in limbo for an eternity before releasing them from their contract & allowing them to sign with DGC Records. The record they put out was fantastic. Great sounds. Great production. The singer had a very distinct voice & they churned out some great songs. "Sold My Fortune," "Cracks in the Pavement" & " Third-Day-To-Forever" being stellar. But, like most really good bands, the whole record is very, very good. I have no idea what in the hell Capitol Records were thinking and why DGC never really promoted this record. Pathetic suit & ties who are really attorneys and accountants run the record business now and that's why it's in the toilet never to come back up again. The only sub-par song is called "Shine Boy," sung by their lead guitarist, Timothy Michael Gruse, who became the one-and-only Timbo and formed the cow-punk outfit, Speedbuggy (USA), who are damn good. But let's stick with Sugartooth. They're good. The record's good. And you can find it dirt cheap. So what are you waitin' for? Go buy the sucka or I'm gonna come git you!"
