"Are you a fan of vintage Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, My Bloody Valentine? Well are you? Then this Album/Band is for you! I was actually blessed with seeing Submarine play live in London whilst on Holiday to London back in the early 90's I was visiting a friend of mine (a famous album reviewer now, who shall remain nameless) taking classes abroad, and he said to me "You've GOT to see this band" "Ok", says I. Rarely in my tenure on this Earth have I seen a band play live, who's material I've not been previous aquainted with, that I was immediately taken with. They were incredible. After my conversion experience, I sought out every single and EP of theirs I could find on the now defunct Ultimate Record Label. Most of these have been compiled on this release for the American market. Not a daft track on the CD! "Jodie Foster" is still one of my all time favorites, a brooding, John Hinckley inspired love song. Much of their later work was recorded by Keith Cleversley, of Flaming Lips/Mercury Rev/Spiritualized fame. Rumour has it, he even played on select tracks to boot! After their disbanding, the band reformed, much intact, as "Jetboy DC" and have recorded and released some various material on compilations/ cd Singles. I recently discovered a great Webpage dedicated to the band at www.submarine.taky.org with great interviews, a discography, reviews, and news of an upcoming record release!"
