"Like the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end..." Such is the case with the Style Council's demise or break up in the late 80's. Yet, their rich blue-eyed, multi-faceted soul, pop, jazz, and r&b recordings live on ! This c.d. is truly a musical treasure trove of some of the most infectious European import soul grooves to hit this way on the western side of the globe. The rich toe tapping, hand clapping opus of Heavens Above is a definite standout track. The same with Walking the Night graced with the funky brass to add a retro 70's funk twist a la Kool and the Gang or Bar Kays, Con Funk Shun, Ohio Players flavor. That outro instrumental of that track is funkified to the max !There's even a bit of the late 60's to 70's Motown sound influence on the title track... The Cost of Loving is worth it all."
