"THE END HAS NO END sounds a bit more like New Order than The Strokes. It is cleaner and more neatly arranged than anything else they have released. That being said, it deviates from trusty Strokes style (which may be a good thing critically as ROOM ON FIRE was dubbed "IS THIS IT? - Again"). It took a while for the track to grow on me and eventually it did, however, it is not my personal favorite. On ROOM ON FIRE, I far preferred Reptillia and Automatic Stop. I bought this single purely for the B side which is a live cover of The Clash's CLAMPDOWN. They nailed it. It is harder and edgier than the original; an absolute delight that should not be missed."
